6 easy yet effective tips to make the most out quarantine

Covid-19, quarantine….ahhh these names. The name that makes us technically disconnected to the outside world, the name that makes us not see our mates, school or university. People wearing masks all the time and everywhere (no offence to anyone, just unusual scenarios). it’s just bazaar and abnormal. What and why on earth does it have to be happening in our era!? The negativity is undoubtedly everywhere regarding the situation and it’s hard to stay positive but in this tough time, but there is still some positivity and here are some tips to make the most out of this time positively. The time that you might only get once in your life, the long enough time to relax and reflect yourself 

1)Spend this quality time with your family and your loved ones. 

This is the time where I presume every member of most families will have to put a stop sign on their job for a while and stay at home. The situation’s kind of forcing you to see each other everyday unlike normal, why don’t you just spend this precious time with your family by doing a family activity or do things you’ve never done together before and you will love each other more. Family is the most precious and wonderful thing ever, we don’t know how long till the time comes but instead of waiting for that day to come without doing anything, you could start off by saying I love you, mom and dad, everyday and say goodnight before bed. These little gimmicks certainly make them happy.

2)Selling stuff that you don’t use online

This is another tip and is my personal favourite as well. Imagine you have so much time to spend at home and with this much time, you’ll see things you don’t use that could turn to cash. So, the ideal is to take a time to go through your old stuff or your storage room and see if there is anything you could make a profit off. You may have found things that you’ve been finding or old things that you’ve been missing and wanted to keep it from exploring.

3)Baking some cake is not a bad idea

Baking has become viral recently as almost everyone spends most of their time in the kitchen, trying to bake their things. Some of them do it for family, some do it for themselves and some do it for selling. All of which totally make sense and depend on personal favourites. I had one of my friends who’s actually a good baker and he/she sold more than 500 cakes last month with a profit well over 10,000 baht. See? you not only get a new skill which is considered cooking so you can tell everybody you can cook but also you could find a new business idea by just walking into your kitchen and start baking.

4)Work out is also not a bad idea

After baking a cake for yourself and family, working out to get rid of those fats is also quite fun and healthy activity to do during this time. You don’t have to go to the gym, well.. technically, you can’t anyway because the gym is closed. You could do some workout activities at home such as push up, sit up or running on the treadmill. Don’t forget to bring your family along for a workout as this will help you get closer to your family and also encourages them to exercise and look after their health. You don’t have to do it every day, twice or three times a week is a good number for a family who never exercises but surely you can do a lot more than that.

5)25 push ups for 25 days challenge

Following from the above tip, 25 push ups for 25 days challenge is definitely considered a workout. The challenge itself is relatively viral among western teenagers where they’ll record the video of themself doing a push up 25 times for 25 days consecutively and each video, each day, they’ll nominate other people to do and have to be different people so they can reach as many people as possible. This challenge is not only just to past the time during quarantine or just to exercise but also has the purpose of raise awareness for PTSD, post traumatic stress disorder anxiety and depression that drive people to commit suicide.

6)Plan the future ahead of you

Last but not least, this is the time for most of the people where they have this much free time to spend, relax and enjoy themselves. After you’ve done all the tips above, I want you to reflect yourself on what you’ve done, what you are doing and what you are going to do in the future, basically just set a reachable and calculated goal. There is so much time for you to talk to yourself right now and if not this time, when then? For some people it might be after quarantine and covid19 madness, I’ll get back to business and make a million or for athletes they’ll go back to training and win their competition, but just a quick note from me, you don’t have to compare your goal to anyone else, everyone is working on their own timeline so it’s a nonsense things to do if you try to compare your goal to others. Plan what you are going to do carefully, do it the best you can so you won’t look back and regret it and trust me my friends, you will succeed. 

Quarantine teaches people a lot, staying at home doesn’t have to be boring, at least not always. Learning new things, being positive to yourself and others around you and keeping yourself active is important. Try activities you haven’t tried and who knows you may end up finding new things that you actually like and enjoy from this time! Pretty much just enjoy life!
