Have you ever wondered what it was like to live the life of a model for a day?
Let me tell you about the most incredible experience I had! I was selected to walk the runway at the Summer-cation Fashion Show held at the M Lifestore Ngamwongwan. They chose me based on my personality, so there was no need for a casting call. I was able to go straight to the costume fitting! And let me tell you, it was an absolute dream come true.
I’ve been keeping a small diary of my journey from the day of fitting all the the way up to the event, so get ready to be stunned!
Tuesday 7th March
On Tuesday it started out pretty boring as it was the beginning of the week. However, it quickly turned into the day I was most excited for because it was my fitting day! According to my schedule, I was supposed to go to The M Lifestore Ngamwongwan for fittings between 1pm-5pm. But because I had classes in the morning, I had to delay my arrival until 3pm to account for the time-consuming travel from Rangsit to Nonthaburi, especially if there’s traffic. Nonetheless, I was looking forward to the fitting and couldn’t wait to get started!
I arrived at 2pm for my fitting and was happy to see some of my model friends from the same agency there. We caught up and while waiting, I had to sign up at the registration desk to get my serial number. I was curious about what time everyone else arrived and if they had already tried on their dresses, but it turned out that none of them had done fittings yet.
After a while, they started calling names in order of arrival and I was eighth on the list, so I had to wait patiently for my turn. Unfortunately, the waiting area was really hot and stuffy, and there was no air conditioning, so I was feeling quite bored and restless. It took about an hour and a half before my name was finally called and I was able to try on a cute short dress with a matching pink jacket from EP brand.
The employee even gave me a cute necklace in the shape of a multicolored bear and some colorful hair clips to wear with the outfit. I completed the look with pastel blue slippers from Living Dolls. After trying on the dress and making sure everything fit well, the employer kindly took a picture of me. Then I changed back into my own clothes and headed out.
But before leaving the mall, I decided to grab some food because I was starving! I selected Papaya Salad De Noir and treated myself to some delicious ice cream from Swensen’s, even though I know I should have avoided sugar since I’m a model. After my meal, I went home to rest.
Wednesday 8th March
On Wednesday, I don’t have to go anywhere except for the university, but today is a bit different as I have to get ready for a day of practicing my model walk. So, I thought I’d share my pre-walking routine with all of you!
Today, I’m feeling more serious about my diet, so I’ve decided to keep my meals simple and avoid overindulging. For breakfast, I had a bowl of granola with milk and drank plenty of water. For lunch, I’m planning to have a pancake with banana, and for dinner, I’ll eat some yogurt to help digestion.
After dinner, I usually do Chloe Ting’s workout on YouTube to help strengthen and tone my body. I spend about two hours on that before taking a shower and taking care of my facial skin. I like to apply a mask and nourishing skincare to keep my skin moisturized and healthy. Since I have really dry skin, I make sure to clean it and apply lotion to keep it soft and smooth.
Before bed, I practice walking in front of the mirror to make sure I’m walking confidently and with good posture. It only takes about 15 minutes, and then I’m off to bed since I have to wake up early the next day.
Thursday 9th March
My alarm goes off at 5am, and I try my best not to disturb my roommate while getting ready for work at the M Lifestore Ngamwongwan. Luckily, I had already picked out my clothes the night before, so I didn’t waste any time deciding what to wear. I left my house at 5:30am, and the traffic was already starting to build up since it was a weekday and everyone was heading out to work.
Fortunately, I managed to avoid the traffic and arrived at my destination 45 minutes before my scheduled time. My mother always taught me the importance of punctuality, and I take that advice seriously. Being punctual shows that we are committed to our jobs and helps us make a good impression.
I met up with the same model friends from the dress fitting day, but everyone was feeling a bit uncomfortable because it was so early in the morning and the air conditioning wasn’t turned on yet. We were all feeling pretty hot, but we pushed through it.
Around 7:30am, the organizer started calling in sets to arrange the blocking for the walk. There were going to be three sets in total—city, natural, and summer—and I was chosen to walk in the first set, the city. I was so excited and a little nervous when it was my turn to walk in the first set, but thankfully the blocking was pretty simple and the manager told us to just walk and dance to the music like we’re strolling around the city. It was really fun and it helped me relax a bit.
I got to sit and watch my friends in the other sets after I finished walking in my set. There were so many models and new stars from different agencies and channels that I had never met before. I even got to meet a new idol who just joined the event that day, my friend Chari from bXd! It was such a cool experience seeing all of these talented people come together for the model walk.
After everyone finished their blocking practice around noon, we took a break before getting ready for hair and makeup. I decided to take a walk in the mall and treat myself to some ice cream and a little shopping before heading back. When I got there, some of the others were still out, so I got my makeup done first.
There were a lot of makeup artists and hairdressers since there were so many people, and each person had a different look. My look was the city look, which meant I was going for a modern and high-tech urban girl vibe. That also meant that my makeup was the most intense and sharpest of all the looks. For my hairstyle, the hair stylist gave me a high bun that was rolled up at the top of my head.
I had some free time after I finished makeup and hair to relax and get to know some of the new actors who were also walking in my set. It was really cool to meet all these new people! Later, I hung out with some friends from my agency and played games and made some TikToks until it was time to get dressed at 5pm.
When I was finally dressed, I had to wait for the stylists to check my look to make sure it was perfect. They ended up making a few small changes to my look from fitting day, like adding some reflective green earrings and ankle-length pastel purple socks to go with my outfit. They also added some stars and smiley face stickers to make my look even cuter!
So at 6pm, the organizer started getting the models ready to walk. And guess what? I found out that famous stars like James Ma and Pie Rinrada were walking the same runway as me! That made me even more excited, but luckily I was wearing sandals instead of high heels, which made me a little less nervous. And my first set of walks went well without any problems or errors.
After waiting for the finale, we finally took a group photo at the end of the event. It was amazing to be a part of such a talented group of people! Afterwards, the organizer let us come down to the first floor and take even more photos at the event booth. It was so much fun posing for more pictures and capturing even more memories from the day.
Eventually, it was time to change out of our outfits and head home. Even though I was tired, I felt so happy and fulfilled after such an unforgettable experience. It’s definitely something that I’ll keep in my mind forever.
I’m really glad I got to share my day as a model with you, and I hope you enjoyed hearing about it! Who knows, maybe it even inspired you to try modeling for yourself. If you do, don’t forget to write a blog about your experience and share it with me. I can’t wait to hear all about it and relive the excitement with you!
