“The Premier League has pledged its support because we fully support the players’ singular goal of eliminating racial intolerance wherever it arises. And we are unwavering in our stance that racism has no place in our competition, football in general, or the broader community.”

“We do not advocate any political organization or movement, nor do we support any group that calls for violence or condones unlawful behavior,” the league said, adding that “professional football bodies and the players and management realize the importance of the message that black lives matter.” We are aware of the dangers posed by groups seeking to exploit popular causes and campaigns in order to promote their political agendas “These actions are completely unacceptable and are condemned by the Premier League and all other professional football bodies, highlighting the importance of our sport uniting to take a strong stand against prejudice. We want to send a good message that respects football’s ability to bring people together.”

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Charity Work

Cristiano Ronaldo is widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in soccer history. He is, however, one of the most well-known athletes in general. His physical abilities are scrutinized by fans of a variety of sports, as many regard them as “alien-like.” Despite being over six feet tall, he is still one of the world’s fastest soccer players. He has an outstanding scoring record and a career filled with iconic and revolutionary moments. However, Cristiano Ronaldo’s charitable work deserves to be recognized as well.

Most recently, he agreed to a pay cut for the months of March through June, which will cost him approximately €3.8 million. He has also donated nearly one million Euros to hospitals in Portugal to purchase beds, ventilators, fans, and infusion pumps. He has also suggested that his national team squad donate half of their Euro qualification bonuses to aid in the fight against the virus.

One of his most notable efforts was the sale of one of his most important awards to fund a humanitarian effort. The Golden Boot, which is awarded to Europe’s top scorer at the end of each season, was auctioned off and raised more than one million Euros. The funds were used to build a number of schools in Gaza. He also did this with an award honoring the year’s best player. This money was donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Overall, Cristiano Ronaldo’s charitable work continues to have an impact during the pandemic and can serve as an inspiration to a plethora of other public figures. His poverty background appears to have motivated the player to put in all of this effort, and it will undoubtedly inspire further philanthropic efforts.
