My personal experience
For one’s part, I’ve directly encountered a massive amount of knowledge and participation in the past 8 years of involvement in the basketball team in my high school and university life. I’ve undergone lots of failures, not being able to make it to the first five at the beginning, getting reproach by my coach, and almost quitting the team. However, what made me continue and not give up was myself, I took into consideration myself with the circumstances of being overweight, unhealthy, and despair. This made me believe in the quote “Nothing is impossible”. It made me want to prove myself that I am applicable to being honoured in the team without getting insulted. It motivated me and made me disciplined in making a routine of exercising twice a day to increase my stamina and go to every practice to prove my dedication. Nevertheless, everything is possible if you try hard enough to acquire it, never give up and you will deserve what you’ve been trying for.
Basketball consists of various tones and emotions which consist of fierce, intense, passionate, and calm. It is an intense sport because it involves accelerations, turns, and jumps which is a vigorous activity, however, it improves cardiovascular and respiratory system which benefits the heart and lungs, which also boosts immunity and strengthens the bones. Every sport creates eager athletes to be passionate in achieving success in each game and to be undefinable. Lastly, it makes them feel calm because it improves the cognitive system and prevents people from having mental health problems such as panic attacks and depression.
As a matter of fact, basketball creates discipline because it motivates athletes to do their best by having consistent performance. To make them focus and attain the ability to work in achieving their goals with no distractions. Discipline is always the best strategy for winning, this implies there is a commitment year round, even if it is the off season and there isn’t a clear benefit. It helps you develop self discipline because they take away the lack of it, which keeps you driven.
